AI Revenue Engine for Media

How MUCH speed do you need?

In our recent post, The Need for Speed, we talked about the importance of a speedy website page load time. But, how fast is fast?  As it turns out, Google engineers are saying that you could lose a visitor in the blink of an eye.  That’s right—400 milliseconds might be too slow.

Granted, certain types of sites load more quickly than others—eCommerce and websites with multiple videos require more load time, typically 1 – 2 seconds —but evidence is showing that people will visit a commerce or news site less often, if it is slower than a competitor by 500 milliseconds, or just half a second.

We tested Success.com, one of the eCommerce websites recently relaunched by ePublishing. Using several speed tests, it took only 0.7 seconds to load. Not bad!
